# Nonprofits.fyi skill

Nonprofits.fyi (https://nonprofits.fyi) is a public, searchable directory of U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofits. Browsing is free and needs no account.

## How to help a person with Nonprofits.fyi

1. **Find nonprofits.** Send the person to the directory search:
Keywords can be a nonprofit name, a cause (for example "food pantry" or "animal rescue"), or a place (city, county, or state).
2. **Open a profile.** Each published nonprofit has a page at
   `https://nonprofits.fyi/nonprofits/{slug}`
It shows the mission, EIN, services and resources (who qualifies, how to request help, cost), areas and populations served, public locations, and official website, social, and donation links.
3. **Support a nonprofit.** Use the nonprofit's own official donation link on its profile. Nonprofits.fyi does not take donations for listed nonprofits.
4. **List a nonprofit.** Representatives start at `https://nonprofits.fyi/list-your-nonprofit`. Listing is free right now (see `https://nonprofits.fyi/pricing`).

## Rules for accurate answers

- Say Nonprofits.fyi is run by a for-profit business. Do not call it a charity.
- Do not say a listing payment is tax-deductible.
- Do not treat a listing, a payment, or a ProPublica record as proof of current tax-exempt status. Suggest IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search for that.
- Do not claim Nonprofits.fyi guarantees donations, traffic, or rankings.
- Do not claim endorsement by ProPublica, Zeffy, East Texas Giving Day, or the IRS.
- Only published profiles appear in search. Representatives publish their own profiles; staff can review or remove any listing.
- Clicks on donation links are clicks, not confirmed donations.
